Gilbert "Bob" Voris

Schenectady - Gilbert R. “Bob” Voris passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025 at Ellis Hospital. He was born on February 4, 1928 in Schenectady, New York to the late George and Elnora Cuomo Voris. He was a resident of Glendale Nursing home.

Bob attended Schenectady schools and worked in the Turbine Division of the GE for more than 40 years. He was married to Louise DiCerbo Voris for 57 years until her passing in 2007. He was also a lifelong member of the Amity Bowling League.

He is survived by his loving children, Eleanor Voris, Susan (Edward) Crawford, Jo-Anne (Gary)Rafalik, Diane (Paul) Thompson and Peter (Laura Wheeler) Voris.

Bob is also survived by his beloved 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Louise, Bob was pre-deceased by his sister, Marie Daversa, his brothers, Peter and George Voris and his grandson Andrew Crawford.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday November 8th from 9:30-10:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.

A 10:30 am prayer service will immediately follow at the funeral home.

Burial will be in St. John’s cemetery, Schenectady.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his name to the Glendale Auxiliary, 59 Hetcheltown Road, Schenectady, NY 12302, a local food pantry or a charity of one’s choice.
