Geraldine (Ricci) Buono

Schenectady – Geraldine Buono, 101, passed away Thursday February 10, 2022, at Ellis Hospital Rehab after a brief illness. Born in Whitehall, NY she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Maria Josephine (Russo) Ricci. During World War II Geraldine worked for the General Electric Co. and later worked for Cassidy Piano Co. Along with her husband Albert (Pat), she was co-owner of Pat’s Place in Schenectady. Geraldine retired in 1994 after 20 years of service for the New York State Department of Labor. Geraldine enjoyed music, reading, western movies, traveling, and the New York Yankees. She was especially proud of having driven to 49 states, including Alaska. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Dennis) Rucci of Guilderland and her two grandchildren, Kathleen Rucci of Saratoga Springs and Justin Rucci of Guilderland. Geraldine is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents and husband (who passed away in 1983), Geraldine was predeceased by her siblings, Guy (Rose) Ricci, Lewis Ricci, Mary DeLalla and Lorraine (Anthony) Falace. A Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be celebrated 10 am Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Donations may be made in her name to the Schenectady City Mission, or a local charity of your choice.
