ROTTERDAM - Gerald H. Lambert, 81, went home to be with Jesus on Friday December 29, 2023 surrounded by his family at his home. He was the son of the late Henry and Lena Lambert. He was very proud of his military service, serving in the Air Force from 1959 to 1963. During the service, the Air Force recognized his aptitude for languages and sent him to Yale to study Chinese. After Yale, he was assigned to the Air Force Security Services. He was deployed to the Far East, and served in the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, and Japan, flying reconnaissance missions to gather intelligence. After he was honorably discharged, he met and married Carol Malone, and they were married for 55 years until her passing in 2019. He started in sales and quickly ascended to executive roles, retiring as General Manager from Vermont Container Co. Jerry loved to golf, travel, spend time with his grandchildren, and be around people. He had an innate ability to connect with everyone he met. He enjoyed reading, especially the Bible, and was always learning new things and gathering knowledge. He loved his church family at Open Arms Church. Through his marriage to Frances DiMascio, he gained beautiful additions to his family, and he was affectionately known as Jer-Bear. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was predeceased by his children, Michelle and Christopher Lambert.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Frances DiMascio-Lambert; his children, Jay (Sue) Lambert and Laurie (Robert) Nadal; his grandchildren, Jillian, Elizabeth, and Jason Lambert, and Kayleigh and Zoey Nadal; his sister, MaryAnn (Michael) Lundy; nieces and nephews; and many close and dear friends. The family would like to thank Hospice for all their care and dedication.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 4th from 9am to 10:30am at Open Arms Church, 2714 Curry Rd, Schenectady, followed by a funeral service at 10:30am. He will then be interred at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Hospice. Arrangements by DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
