Rotterdam- Gerald A. "Jerry" Farrington Sr. , 85, at rest Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Jerry was born in Schenectady, the beloved son of the late Guy and Louise Heim Farrington. He was a graduate of Scotia High School and soon after served in the Navy from 1946 to 1948. He was a truck driver for Teamsters Union Local #294, completing his work career with UPS Freight.Jerry was a long time communicant of St. Gabriel's Church. Jerry was the beloved husband of almost 65 years to Helen DeLuke Farrington of Rotterdam; beloved father of Patricia (Dominic) Orologio Jr. of Pattersonville, Gerald A. "Jerry" (Kathy Coon) Farrington Jr. of Schenectady; beloved grandmother of Dominc (Sandi) Orologio III, Benjamin (Brittany) Orologio, and Adam (Kate) Orologio; beloved brother of Alice Townley, Janet DeSoto and the late Guy Farrington Jr. and Clifford Farrington. Jerry is also survived by four great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be held Thursday Feb. 27 from 5 to 7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Friday 10am at St. Gabriel's Church, 3040 Hamburg St.Rotterdam. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. Jerry's family wishes to thank the Baptist Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Community Hospice of Schenectady for their kind care of Jerry.
