George J. Repice

George Joseph Repice, 89, of Schenectady passed away peacefully on Thursday May 1, 2025. Born on February 4, 1936 in Schenectady, George was the son of the late Joseph Repice and Elizabeth Labate Repice. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and then served in the US Army from 1955-1957. George was a member of the Junior College of Albany's first graduating class and enjoyed a fulfilling career in the insurance industry.  It was a profession he truly appreciated because it gave him the freedom to drive to many different places, talk to people, and enjoy lunch at his favorite restaurants. He was a devoted husband to Marcia Phillips Repice for 53 years until her death in 2015. After meeting at a neighborhood party on the eve of her 20th birthday, they would never spend another day apart. George enjoyed taking care of his home and detailing his classic cars.  He loved stylish clothes and shoes, playing the guitar and mandolin, as well as watching baseball. George was a member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church.

Survivors include his loving family: children, Michele Repice Straight (Darryl) of Brunswick, NY; Gregory Repice (Ivy) of Glenville, NY; Sheila Hotaling (Scott) of N. Adams, MA; Christopher Repice (Kristin) of Camillus, NY; two granddaughters, Katrina Hotaling and Emma Repice; and several nieces and nephews including Frank Campanella and Marie Banewicz.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday May 7th from 5 to 7pm at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday May 8th at 9am at the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish, 2216 Rosa Rd, Schenectady, NY 12309, followed by interment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
