Schenectady – Geoffrey “Geoff” P. Gabel, 53, passed away tragically doing what he loved best which was riding his motorcycle. Born in Albany, Geoff was the son of Paul J. Gabel Jr. and Linda Marcley. A 1988 graduate of Mohonasen High School Geoff loved his classmates and stayed in touch through the years. Geoff loved his family and loved to take long rides on his motorcycle, loved picnics, fairs and being with friends and family. He always had a great smile and a joke to tell. He was a jack of many trades and loved working with the public and always ready to help others and talk with people. Examples of that was Geoff being a licensed CNA, a dental assistant and being in customer service in large retail stores.
He is survived by his mother and his second father Linda Gabel (Thomas) Armbruster.
His aunt Diane (Walt) Fredenburg and his Uncle Richard Marcley.
His two step brothers Shawn and Brian Armbruster.
He is also survived by many cousins and very special friends which include his loving girlfriend Autumn Eckler.
Geoff will be greatly missed by all!
He was predeceased by his father Paul J. Gabel Jr., his sister Kellie Lynn Gabel, his maternal grandparents Frank & Irene Marcley and his paternal grandparents Paul & Louise Gabel.
A calling hour, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Wednesday from 12-1 pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam.
Burial will be private in Woestina Cemetery, Rotterdam Junction.
Memorial contributions may be made in Geoff’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
