Gennaro "Jerry" Tommasone

March 21, 1941 — July 16, 2022

Rotterdam - Gennaro ‘Jerry’ Tommasone, 81, son of Antonio and Maria Friello Tommasone, was born on March 21, 1941, in Montaniccio, Alvignano, Province of Caserta, Italy, and died on Saturday, July 16, 2022. Jerry’s wife, Antonietta survives him. He was a 1961 graduate of Schenectady’s Linton High School. Jerry worked as a bricklayer and mason with Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Union Local 2 and most fondly for his late brother Antonio’s companies Tom-Cor Development and Rotterdam General Contracting. He was proud of his workmanship and bestowed his passion and love of craftsmanship on his coworkers, friends, and most importantly to his family. Jerry married the love of his life, Antonietta Mastroianni on November 16, 1963 and raised their three sons: Steven (Marilyn), Jerry (Kim), and Daniel (Jennifer). He will be missed most especially by his eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Jerry is survived by his sister, JoAnn Vendetti (the late James Vendetti). Jerry was the brother of the late Ruggiero Tommasone, Marianinna (Amelio) Friello, Rosa (Rosario) DeCredico, Antonio (Giovina) Tommasone, Mary (Jerome) Vaverchak and Angelina (Arthur) Petrozzi. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 331 Seward Place, Schenectady. Interment will follow in Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery, Duanesburg Road, Rotterdam. There will be no calling hours. The family requests no flowers and asks you to donate to a church or charity of your choice in his memory.
