Gary Lawrence

Rotterdam – Gary Lawrence, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 10, 2021. Born in Glens Falls, Gary was a lifetime resident of Rotterdam. He graduated from Draper High School and went on to work for the General Electric Co. as a machinist retiring in 1998. An avid outdoorsman, Gary was happiest spending time fishing in his boat at camp or in the woods hunting. Of his many other activities, he thoroughly enjoyed making his Award Winning homemade wine with his close friends “The Wine Guys”. He always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Gary was also a member of the Rotterdam Elks #2157 and the IUE-CWA Local 301. He was predeceased by his mother Nora Biercuk and Stepfather Ed Biercuk and his son Richard Lawrence. He is survived by his life partner and fishing buddy, Barbara Gardenier. His son; Robert (Barbara) Lawrence. Stepchildren; Lynne Benosky and Michael Derrick. His sister; Jean (Paul) Parillo Roman. His grandchildren; Madison Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Jane Lawless, Gabriel Ivers, Debra Lawrence, Evan Benosky, Ryan Benosky, Nicholas Derrick, Joshua Derrick and Caitlyn Derrick. Gary is also survived by 5 great grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4-6pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Masks must be worn.
