Fred H. Grabert February 1, 1954 - May 16, 2016 Gansevoort, NY - Fred H. Grabert, 62, peacefully passed away with his devoted family at his side on May 16, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital following a brief and unexpected illness. Fred was born in Ware, Massachusetts and is the Son of the late Fred J. Grabert and the late Doris (Ratelle) Grabert. Fred is survived by his loving and devoted Wife of 41 years, Karen E. Grabert; his precious children and their spouses, David F. (Andrea) Grabert of Rochester, NY and Kathie S. (Rich) Dunne of Gansevoort, NY; four adored Grandchildren, RJ Dunne, Erin Dunne, Abigail Grabert, Christopher Grabert; his beloved Aunt Doris Bruce of Massachusetts; and many dear and loving friends. Fred spent several years volunteering his time with his hometown fire and ambulance service back in Massachusetts and made his longtime career as a self-employed computer consultant. Fred had many passions; traveling with his family, the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, good food, Saratoga Race Course and his all-time favorite holiday, the Fourth of July! Fred was passionate about anything that brought his family and friends closer to him and along with his wife Karen, turned the simplest "get-togethers" into events where fond memories were made. Fred was never afraid to share his opinions and usually did, and in doing so somehow always ended up making a new friend. Most importantly, Fred was never ashamed to tell his family and close friends how much he truly loved them through his words or through his kind, thoughtful ways. Fred will remain painfully missed - his presence was truly a beacon of love, friendship and knowledge. The Grabert family wishes to thank the many incredible doctors and nurses who have cared for Fred over the years; your professionalism, compassion and devotion was not only encouraging, but inspirational. Fred has been entrusted to the care of DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home of Rotterdam, NY and at Fred's request services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Fred's memory to the Tyler DeMarco Foundation (Fighting Childhood Cancer) at their website: www.TylersWish.org. Fred wanted no one to mourn his passing but insisted we live happy and in love and celebrate him in cheer on the 4th of July!
