Frank Ruzza, 70, died peacefully on January 3, 2021 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Castelliri, Italy on May 30, 1950, he was the son to the late Flavia and Giovanni Ruzza. He is predeceased by his son, son Frank Ruzza Jr. Frank was a lifelong resident of Schenectady, and then the town of Rotterdam. He was a former Asst. Chief, Firefighter, Life Member and Commissioner of the Carmen Volunteer Fire Department. He was a great asset to the department and community. He will be missed by all those whose lives he touched. He served honorably and faithfully in the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1972. He is survived by his siblings; Valentino (Assunta), Luigi (Susan), Anna Tarullo (Mike) Dominic, and Giulio. He is also survived by his loving children; Todd, Amy, and Catherine, all of Rotterdam, his grandson, Justin, nieces, nephews, two great-nieces, and godchildren. Calling hours will take place at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Schenectady, NY from 4pm-7pm on Saturday, January 9. Frank’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the ICU doctors and nurses at Ellis Hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Carmen Fire Department District 3.
