Frank S Madej

Rotterdam- Frank S. Madej, 94, formerly of Gullot Drive, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2017 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 3, 1923 in Pittsfield MA, the only child of the late Stanley and Sophie Slowek Madej. Frank was raised in Scotia NY and served in the United States Navy during WWII. He married his beloved wife Mary Grigerek on October 22, 1949. She passed away on April 20, 2012. Frank was employed by GE and Atomic Knolls for over 40 years. He volunteered with the Rotterdam Disabled Vets and was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club. Frank was an avid gardener. He was a communicant of St. Luke’s Church Schenectady. He is survived by his two sons Jeff and Candance Madej of Alpaus NY, and Ken and Judy Madej of Burnt Hills NY, four grandchildren Christopher (Alicia) Madej of Glenville, Bethany (Daniel) Schuldt of Camillus, Marissa Madej of Burnt Hills and Stephen (Meredith) Madej of Manhattan. He is also survived by four great grandchildren Samuel, Harper, Madeleine and Hadley. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am at St. Luke’s Church Schenectady on Monday June 26, 2017. Interment will follow at St. Cyril’s Cemetery Duanesburg Road Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to St. Luke’s Church Schenectady.
