Rotterdam – Frank J. Gillick, 69, passed away on Monday, October 29th, 2018, after a courageous 5-year battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Frank was born in the Bronx to his parents, the late Matthew and Mary (D’Aloia) Gillick. He graduated from Duanesburg High School, received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rider University in New Jersey, and then earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from SUNY Albany. After earning his Master’s Degree, Frank worked at Schenectady County Community College as Assistant to the Chancellor. He then continued his career in Personnel Administration with the New York State Police for 32 years. Frank was a longtime member of St. Gabriel’s Church where he volunteered much of his time in many capacities. Frank loved sports, especially baseball, walking the fine line between being a Mets and a Yankees fan. For 12 years, Frank coached CYO basketball at St. Gabriel’s and he was a former president of Carman Little League. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Kathleen (Pierce) Gillick, his sons, Dr. John Gillick (Samantha), Vincent Gillick and Thomas Gillick (Danielle) and his beloved “babydoll” granddaughter, Adriana Gillick. He also leaves behind his brother, Lawrence Gillick (Elisa) and in-laws, Ellen and Dan Dennis, Dr. Vincent Pierce, Patricia Pierce and Mary and Bob Schneider as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides Frank’s parents, he is predeceased by his oldest brother, Matthew Gillick as well as Elyne Schulte. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, from 2-5pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam, NY. Funeral services will begin on Monday morning at 9:15am at the funeral home and will be followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam, NY. Interment will take place at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Niskayuna, NY.
