Schenectady - Frank A. Gallo, 82, passed away at his home on Tuesday December 7, 2021. Born in Schenectady, he was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, class of 1957. He went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard from 1959-1968. He later joined his family businesswhere he worked and continued to build the business up until his retirement. During his career Frank was recognized here in the Capital District and nationally for his contributions to the floral industry which included being elected to the National board of directors of FTD and serving on many national committees and also chairing the floral decorating committee for the 1980 winter Olympics in Lake Placid. He was a diehard New York Yankee, New York Giants and New York Knicks fan.Frank was a communicant of St. Luke’s Church since 2010. Frank was predeceased by his parents Frank and Anna Gallo and his sister Sue Kozak. He is survived by his sons Frank (Kelly) of Guilderland and Gregg of Rotterdam. Also survived by his Grandchildren Joseph and Frank. Nicholas, Francesca, Michael, Giovanni & Vincenzo. The family would like to thank Dr. Shaheen Rahman and Dr. Cary Vachon for their care over the years. Also, the friends and residents of Riverside Condominiums where he resided for many years. A Mass of Christian Burial, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be celebrated 9 am Monday, December 13th, at St. Luke’s Church 1241 State St., Schenectady. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
