Frank A Campolieto

Schenectady – Frank A. Campolieto passed away on Thursday, January 21st, 2021 at the age of 94. Born in Schenectady, Frank was the son of the late John and Christine (Casso) Campolieto. During World War II, at the age of 17, Frank left school and joined the United States Navy and served on the destroyer, USS Halligan. He honorably served from 1943-1945. Upon his return to the states, Frank married his beloved wife, Lillian Tiberio Campolieto. Frank worked in several different fields including hairdressing and auto body work before beginning his 27 year career with the Schenectady Fire Department, a job in which he greatly enjoyed. Upon retirement Frank opened a small restaurant on State St. in Schenectady which he owned for a couple of years featuring mostly breakfast and lunch foods. Frank was someone who really enjoyed life. He loved a good joke, a good cocktail and good scratch off and was always the life of the party. Frank was a diehard NY Yankees and UCONN women’s basketball fan. Above all things, Frank was a devoted family man; never missing his grandchildren’s sporting events. Besides his parents, Frank was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Lillian Tiberio Campolieto and his siblings, Mary Vollmer, John Campolieto, Anna Canabush and Yolanda Nadler. He leaves behind hisfive children, Donna (Carl) Neuschaefer, Barbara (William) Haskell, Frank (Rose) Campolieto, Robert (Janet) Campolieto and Denise (Peter) Mortka; his sister, Carmela Fuda; 11 grand children; 16 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews andcousins. Funeral services will be private. Burial with military honors will take place at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Frank’s name may be made to the Schenectady City Mission,425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305or the SPFA Cancer Foundation.
