Frank M Barba

Frank M. Barba, 95, formerly of Lake Dr. in Rotterdam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Ellis Hospital. Frank was born in Pittston, PA. He joined the US Army in 1942 and served as a Medic in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Sergeant.Frank worked as a Punch Press Operator at General Electric for 31 years, retiring in 1981. He was an avid bowler and bowled twice a week until the age of 87. He enjoyed gardening, working around his house and spending time with his family. He particularly loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Nellie Dominick Barba, two sisters; Sara Millazo, Josephine Cordora and three brothers; Alfonso Barba, Charles Barba and Joseph Barba. He is survived by his children, Linda (Douglas) Zoller of Amsterdam and Joanne (Douglas) Smith of Wellesley, MA., three grandchildren; David Zoller, Robin (Aric) Rider and Jennifer (Robert) Durgin and four great grandchildren; A.J., Avery, Ayden and Charlie. Services will be private. Burial, with military honors, will be in the spring at St. Anthony' s Cemetery in Glenville. Frank's family would like to thank the staff at Glendale Nursing Home, Erie Crossings, for their care and support during his time there.
