Francis J. (Frank) Niedbalski, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, March 3, 2025, after a brief illness. He was 96 years old. Born in Schenectady in 1929, he was the son of Peter and Stella Niedbalski. He worked at the General Electric Company retiring in 1991 but for those who knew Frank, he was not one to sit around. After his official retirement from GE, he worked a few part time jobs, most notably at Towne TV, the business of his friends Mike and Mary Valletta. Frank enjoyed the Adirondacks and the many hunting trips he went on with relatives and friends. On May 5, 1951, Frank married the love of his life, Lauretta Grubalski and moved to their dream home in Rotterdam. In their retirement years Frank and Lauretta enjoyed many winters in Sarasota, Florida participating in the many activities in their community and making lifelong friends. When not in Florida, Frank and Lauretta enjoyed Wednesday evenings at Ferrari’s Restaurant with their “Wacky Wednesday Group”. Above all, Frank enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his 3 grandsons and 2 great granddaughters. He was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church. Frank was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Lauretta Niedbalski. Frank is survived by his daughter, Kathy and her husband Bruce Brown of Virginia, son David Niedbalski and his wife Mary Beth of Gansevoort, NY three grandsons, Scott Brown and his wife Sara Brown of Lynchburg, VA, Michael Brown and his wife, Ann of Richmond, VA, and Matthew Niedbalski and his wife Anna of South Glens Falls, NY, and two great granddaughters, Emma Ervin of Lynchburg, VA, Eleanor Niedbalski of South Glens Falls, NY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In keeping with Frank’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
