Frances L. Sindoni 95, Beloved mother and sister, died suddenly on Monday, May 23, 2016 at her daughter's home in Slingerlands, where she has lived for nine and a half years.Fran was born in Reggio, Calabria, Italy on November 19, 1920, the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Angelina (Sita) Garino, and traveled to the United States with her mother and sister in 1925 to join her father in Albany where she spent the early years of her life. She attended Cathedral Academy and worked for General Electric before her marriage. She married Matthew J. Sindoni in 1944, and they celebrated 57 years together in Schenectady before his passing in 2001. She was an active member of the Rotterdam Rotary Anns, and enjoyed her weekly card games with a group of life-long friends, most of whom have predeceased her.A gifted seamstress, her needlepoint, embroidery, and beautiful handmade flowers will forever be her loving legacy. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Stephanie (Biscone), and her dear sister Josie (John) Paolucci and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Matthew, her sister Mary Amore (Albany), and her brother Anthony Garino (Scottsdale AZ). The family wishes to thank the wonderful physicians who have cared for Fran over the last years of her life: Dr. Michael Bernstein, Dr. Dennis Gort, and Dr. Judy Van Woert. In addition, her daughter sends a heart felt thank you to her mom's nurses and aides, especially Lisa Benson, Betsy Bates, Mike, and Ron. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 27th at 9:00 am at St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St. , Schenectady, followed by interment at Sts. Cyril and Method Cemetery in Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Fran in a special way can make a memorial donation to her favorite organizations: St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at St. Jude.org.
