Frances (Dimanno) Saburro

Schenectady – Frances Saburro, 98, formerly of Webster St., died peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Luigi and Concetta DiManno. Frances graduated from Nott Terrace High School. After raising her family, she pursued her career in secretarial work. She retired from the Schenectady City School District after 25 years of service. She and her husband, Michael, were married for over 65 years prior to his passing in 2008. Frances was a woman of great faith and strength. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for many years. There is no doubt that Heaven added an angel. Frances was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Her kitchen table was a meeting place for family and friends. There was never a problem that couldn’t be solved over an eggplant sandwich and a cup of coffee. Her warm and caring nature was a comfort to all who knew her. Frances was the first to lend a hand and was always a great listener. She is survived by her four sons, Richard Saburro, Michael (Terri) Saburro, Bob Saburro and James (Sue) Saburro and her nine grandchildren, Alicia Milman, Cynthia (Rueben) Schwartz, Christina (Michael) Smith, Dena (Ian) Henderson, Merissa (Scottie) Bergen, Michael (Kara) Saburro, Amanda (Brion) Salatino, James (Amy) Saburro and Jessica (Josh) Evans. She is also survived by 17 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, Frances was predeceased by her brother, Salvatore DiManno and her sister, Philomena Palleschi. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 8:30-10:15 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. An 11 am Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 1255 Pleasant St., Schenectady. Burial will take place at Sts. Cyril & Method Cemetery.
