Floyd A. Simmons, 87, of Rottedam, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Born, raised and educated in Catskill, NY, Floyd was an Electrician with the General Electric Co. in Schenectadyfor 32 years and retired in 1987. He served our country during WWII and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Floyd was honorably discharged in 1946. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting. He was predeceased by his parents, Glenford and Addie Mae Whitbeck Simmons. Floyd is survived by his wife of 40 years, Shelia Simmons, one step daughter; Toni (Bill) DiLorenzo, was a devoted "Papa" to Jessica and Nico and is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins. A Calling hour will be held on Thursday morning from 9-10 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors, will be at the GeraldB.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
