Floyd E. Dufel, 86, of Schenectady, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 12th. Floyd was the son of Martha and Edward Dufel of Tribes Hill, New York. He graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School. A veteran of World War II, Floyd served in Japan with the United States Army. He was the owner of Floyd's Floor Covering on State St. for over 45 years, until his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Amelia (Raffele Capasso) Dufel. He was the father of the late Richard (Capasso) Dufel. He is also survived by his sister in law, Mrs. Clare (Dolly) Raffele, many wonderful cousins, and many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bietz and staff, as well as the VA Healthcare Network of Upstate NY and the Visiting Nurses of Schenectady for their prayers and loving care of Floyd during his illness. Services will be private at the convenience of the family, and held at St. Cyril's Cemetery, presided over by Father Isopo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, the Dominican Friars of San Francisco, CA.
