Florence Greening

Rotterdam- Florence Greening, 95, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Pontypridd, South Wales, she was the daughter of the late Alphonso Ridolini and Louisa Russell Ridolini. Florence was predeceased by her sisters Rosetta, Louisa, Annetta and Brother Alphonso, as well as her niece Roma Hunt. Flo and her loving husband, John Raymond Greening emigrated to the United States in 1958, where they lived in Rotterdam, NY, and were married for 56 beautiful years. Florence worked at St. Clare’s Hospital in Schenectady as an Operating Room Technician. She shared her husband’s love of breeding and showing Great Danes, as well her other hobbies of ceramics, knitting, arts and crafts. Florence also enjoyed visiting family in her beloved Wales, spending winters with friends in Florida and summering at Schroon Lake, NY. She is survived by her son, John Greening Jr., of Ballston Spa, NY her Grandchildren; Colin Greening of Nederland, CO., Mrs. Halie Soprano and husband Nick Soprano of Ballston Spa, Great Grandchild, Leo Nicholas Soprano. Her niece, Annetta August and family, as well as remaining extended family in Wales and Great Britain. Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 12pm-2pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306. A funeral service will take place at 2pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Florence’s memory to Our Lady of Mercy Care Center, 2 Mercy Care Ln. Guilderland, NY 12084.
