Filomena Califano Piccirillo, 85, of Schenectady passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Born in San Giovanni e Paolo, Italy. In 1963, Filomena married her late husband Guido Piccirillo in Caiazzo, Italy and moved from Italy to this area in 1965. Together they had three children. She was employed for many years by Union College and later employed at the dental office of Dr. DeLuke. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Schenectady. She loved to grow a vegetable garden, display her prized geraniums, cook, and care for her grandchildren.
She was the wife of the late Guido Piccirillo (2003). Beloved mother of Nicola “Nick” (Ersilia) Piccirillo of Scotia, Lucia (Andy) Ingriselli of Maple, Ontario, Canada, and John (Kristen) Piccirillo of Schenectady. Loving grandmother of Christina, Julianna, Annamarie, Luca, Daniella, and Gianni Piccirillo, and Amanda, Sara, Laura, Diana, Joseph, Rosa, Andrew, Stefano, and Antonio Ingriselli. Beloved sister of Antonio, Stefano, Angelo and the late Giuseppe Califano, all of Italy, and the late Carmela Ingriselli of Canada. She is also survived by beloved Aunt Elvira Sangiovanni, beloved caregiver Marjorie Cummings, and by numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday December 14th from 3 to 5pm at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday December 15th at 10am at St. Anthony’s Church, 331 Seward Pl, Schenectady, followed by entombment in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, the family will distribute all cash donations to organizations that helped Filomena during her battle with Alzheimer's.
