Rotterdam - Fenton Alvin Robbins, 87, of Rotterdam, passed away Sunday October 5, 2014 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Mechanicville, he was the son of Fenton Alvin Robbins Sr. and Evelyn A. Smith Robbins. Fenton was a GE Pattern Maker for 35 years.A job that he loved because as he said "it was like model building to him".He could repair, fix or build most anything.He loved working with computers and enjoyed golfing with his friends and family. He also enjoyed his many years in Schroon Lake building his summer home with his family. In later years of retirement, he enjoyed traveling the country in his motor home with his wife. He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy. He is survived by his Wife of 57 years, Jeannine Clarisse Robbins. Children; Dennis S Robbins, James A Robbins (Marlene), Richard P Robbins (Lorri) and Sheryl D Lavigne (Thomas). Grandchildren; Margaret O'Dea (Andrew), Rebekah Robbins, Zachary Robbins, Ryan Robbins and Arabelle Robbins. Great Grandchildren; Keilia O'Dea, Delaney O'Dea and William O'Dea. Sisters; Betty Reynolds and Gail Hayner (Art). Along with his parents, Fenton was predeceased by his brother Douglas Robbins. We want to thank the Ellis Hospital ER and ICU teams in caring for Fenton.We want to express an exceptional Thank You to "Keith" (ER Nurse) for his exceptional care on Friday evening and Danielle Lebrecht (ICU Nurse) for her efficiency, love and care for Fenton during his last days and her concern and tenderness for the family. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to Horicon Museum & Historical, 6696 State Route 8, Brant Lake, NY 12815.
