Eugene (Gene) Rabaglia, 88, of Clifton Park passed at home on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Born on September 20, 1931, Gene was the son of the late Lawrence and Aldina Giovanini Rabaglia. He graduated from Solvay High School in 1949 and joined the US Air Force in August. Following Russian language training in Monterey, CA, he served in Korea in 1951 and was honorably discharged in 1953. In 1957, Gene received a degree in Electrical Engineering from Syracuse University. He was employed by New York Telephone/ Verizon for 32 years in various engineering positions before he retired in 1988 as a District Manager. Gene gave back to his community as a volunteer for the Capital Communication Federal Credit Union and served on its Board of Directors. He also worked with several Telephone Pioneer Organizations and was a member of the Colonie Elks Club. Gene was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Mac Williams Rabaglia and his second wife, Connie Pascarella Rabaglia. He is survived by his beloved sister Dolores Racona and his cherished companion, Barbara Parrish; his children, Lawrence (Sheila) Rabaglia; Jeannine (Mike) Mannarino; Kathie (Joe) Shapiro; fifteen grandchildren and step-grandchildren and a great grandchild. Viewing will be Friday from 4 – 7 pm at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd., Glenville. A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, 9 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park. Burial with military honors will be at St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Glenville. In lieu of flowers, donations to veterans’ organizations or to combat breast cancer would be appreciated.
