Esther Rose (Musco) Desorbo

Esther Rose (Musco) DeSorbo, 100, formerly of Santa Lane in Rotterdam, died peacefully on Thursday, July 20, 2016 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady. Born in Caiazzo, Italy, Esther was the daughter of the late John and Rose Puorto Musco. Esther came to this country in 1920 or 21 and was a graduate of Washington Irving High School. She was employed as a secretary with the Detroit Supply Co. in Schenectady. Esther was a member of St. Gabriel’s Church in Rotterdam. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ralph DeSorbo, Sr. who died in 1981, her beloved daughter, Camille DeSorbo, and loving sisters and brothers and their spouses; Louise Musco, Mary and Earl Finn, Catherine and John Cafarelli, Aurora and Philip Wheeler, Anthony and Theresa Musco, Vincent and Edith Musco, Alexander and Marie Coco, and Glen Grant II. Esther is survived by her son, Ralph DeSorbo of Rotterdam and her sister, Virginia Grant of Niskayuna. A calling period will be held on Monday from 8:45- 10:45 am at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., followed at 11:30 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Schenectady
