Ernest R Bonacquist

Rotterdam – Ernest Bonacquist, 90, passed away on March 28, 2017. Ernest was born in Schenectady, New York. He was the son of Frank and Latina Bonacquist, and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. Ernest served in the US Navy aboard the USS Tolowa during WWII. He was the long time proprietor of Bonnie’s Restaurant, and retired after a career in sales. Ernest was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and enjoyed both playing and watching golf. Ernest is predeceased by his parents, his brother Harold and his first wife Rita. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean, sons Kenneth Maleck (Patty), Bruce Bonacquist (Heidi), Paul Maleck (Maria) and Mark Bonacquist (Beth). Grandchildren include Marisa Johnson (Thomas), Marta Maleck, Sara Bonacquist, Brian Maleck (Sarah) and Nicholas Bonacquist. At the request of Ernest, there will be no calling hours. Burial Mass will be at St. Madeleine Sophie Church on Saturday, April 1st at 10:00 am. The family would like to thank Community Hospice of Schenectady and the staff at the Joan Nicole Prince Home for their compassionate care.
