September 18, 2013- Elizabeth K. Wright, of Glenville, NY, died peacefully among family and friends.She was born September 16, 1947 in Schenectady, the daughter of the late Michael A. Russo and Rosalie F. (Zubalik) Russo, who survives.She is predeceased by James R. Wright, whom she married in 1969. Liz was educated in Schenectady at St. Columbus and Notre Dame, graduating in 1965.After high school she attended and received her degree from Albany Business College.She worked for the New York State Education Department before dedicating her life to her family. She is survived by her son, Michael Wright (Kimberly) of Halfmoon, and daughter, Michele Greco of Rotterdam.She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Sophia, Mitchell, Olivia and Ava. Liz lived the majority of her life bravely coping with a degenerative muscular disease, Friedreich's Ataxia.She leaves many supportive friends in F.A. groups and at the Muscular Dystrophy Association.She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Parish and maintained a strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Special thanks to friends John and Dagmar Rossi.Thank you to aides who became like family- Waseela Ramnath and Rameeza Majeed.Lastly the family would like to express their gratitude to the caring staff at Glendale Nursing Home and Ellis ICU. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, from 6-8 pm at the Demarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed at 10 am by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Church. Interment will be at St.'s Cyril & Method Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations for F.A. research may be made to the MDA, PO Box 78960, Phoenix AZ., 85062-8960 or at mda.org.
