Albany - Elizabeth “Liz” Singleman, 95, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Home in East Greenbush, NY. Born in Brooklyn, NY on Sept. 7, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Young and Maria Storer. Liz was an athlete in her youth with a special love and skill for basketball. Liz worked as a switchboard operator for Standard Furniture and Killip Laundry and Dry Cleaning for many years. She was a gentle soul who loved life and the outdoors. She was dedicated to her husband and sons. She was predeceased by her husband Alfred H. “Sing” Singleman, who passed away in Feb., 2000. She was also predeceased by her brothers Wally and Earl, and sister Thelma Young and sister Dorothy Storer. She is survived by her sons Alfred (Diane) of Rotterdam and Erick (Ann) of East Greenbush. Also surviving Liz are her grandson Scott (Stephanie) Singleman of Rotterdam, granddaughter Lisa (Robert) Bradley of Silver Spring, MD, and step-grandchildren Matthew and Erin Hulick and Whitney Sumner. Also surviving Liz are her great-grandchildren Kristin, Katelyn, Charlie and Henry Singleman, Bethany Bradley and step-great grandson Patrick Dougan. A private memorial will be held by the family at their convenience. Interment will be at Saratoga National Cemetery.
