Elizabeth C (Sleasman) Jones

July 4, 1932 — February 24, 2021

Rotterdam - An angel here on earth has been called to unfold her wings and fly to heaven where a grand celebration awaits her arrival. On February 24, 2021 Elizabeth (Betty) C. Sleasman Jones was called home to the Lord after 88 years of being a faithful servant to be reunited with her family; husband Fred (Ron), parents Catherine and William Sleasman, brother Bill, sisters Lillian (Daley) and Shirley (Pedersen). Betty was born and raised in Colonie, graduated from Vincentian Institute and began a career with NYS. She put her career on hold to raise her family, returning to work once the children were grown, first at various part-time positions and then returning to the state until her retirement. After retiring she was a volunteer at the Ellis Hospital gift shop for many years. The position she enjoyed the most was mother and homemaker. She always put her family first and thrived on caring for them regardless of their age or location. She is survived by her son Bob (Nancy) Jones of Day, daughters Kathy (Bob) Buccieri of Virginia Beach, Linda (Joe) Rispoli of Delanson and Nancy Griffeth of Rotterdam. She also leaves behind her much loved grandchildren; Nick (Sylwia) Hoffman, Nicole (Jon) Aldridge, Phil (Fallon) Buccieri, Angela (Will) Borzymowski, James and Jeremy Griffeth; 6 great grandchildren (with twins on the way) and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg St., Schenectady, NY 12303 Visitation will be held Monday March 1, 2021 from 9:30-10:30 am at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, NY 12306. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am at St Gabriel’s Church followed by interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery.
