Elinor Rose Spinosa Macari, formerly of Crestwood Avenue, Troy and most recently Baptist Health Rehabilitation and Nursing Home died on Thursday, November 20, 2014. Born and raised in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Ann Tepedino and Sante Spinosa. In 1949, while attending a church picnic in Albany, Elinor met Michael S. Macari.They were married Thanksgiving Day, 1952 and until his death in 1990.Together they owned and operated The Troy Cordage Company.Their company was featured in a Troy Record newspaper article on January 6, 1968.Although Elinor was the homemaker, and with three small children, she was able to assist her husband with his business. She received her Associates Degree in 1988 from HVCC after many years of night school. Before her retirement, Elinor was employed as a Dietary Supervisor at Woodlawn Village Nursing Home and Leisure Arms Nursing Home. Elinor enjoyed decorating cakes, arts and crafts and gardening.Her flower garden was featured in a Schenectady Gazette photo article in 2012. Elinor was a communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Church, Schenectady and St. Ann's Church in Watervliet. Elinor is survived by her companion, Al Bursi, her brother Frank Spinosa (Eileen), her children, Latefa Lang (John), Paul Macari (Erin), and Michele L'Hommedieu (David), six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She is predeceased by her sister Antionette Kelly Calling hours will be held at the DeMarco- Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady on Tuesday eve from 5-8 pm. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Rd.on Wednesdaymorning at 10 am.Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
