Elena Helen (Festoso) Petricco

Guilderland- Elena "Helen" Petricco, beloved wife of John Petricco passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the Teresian House after a brief illness. Elena was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Angela (Grasso) Festoso.Born in New York City, Elena traveled abroad extensively with her father, who was a concert violinist and as a young child attended school in Italy. During their sixty years of marriage, Elena and John shared a love of travel, golf, skiing and bowling and were members of the Pine Haven Country Club, the Northeast Golf Association and the Albany Country Club.Elena also enjoyed music, animals and flower gardeningand will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love of all things beautiful.Prior to retirement, Elena was employed as a Secretary for many years for the United States Air Force. In addition to her husband John, Elena is survived by her two sisters-in-law; Grace (Alphonso) Friello of Florida and Elizabeth (Eugene) Myers of Connecticut as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Rose Mercereau and Lydia Cramond. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco- Stone Funeral Home Inc., 5216 Western Turnpike Guilderland, NY on Sunday January 27, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. The parish family of Christ the King Church will gather at 5:30 p.m. for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Church, Guilderland on Monday, January 28, 2013. Interment will be held at the Saratoga National Cemetery on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 2 p.m.
