Rotterdam- Elena D'Orazio (Polsinelli), 85, of Rotterdam, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 surrounded by her family.Born in Arpino la province de Frosinone, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Domenico and Marianna Polsinelli.Elena came to the United States in 1966 with her late husband,Americo D'Orazio.She worked as a seamstress at Cheltingham Manufacturing Company for 11 years and later as a housekeeper for Elmer Avenue School, General Electric Company and St. Clare's Hospital, until she retired in 1989. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family and friends.She loved her flower garden, vegetable garden, and always cooked and baked for everyone. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 51 years,Americo, as well as her three brothers, Gaetano, Antonio and Samuel Polsinelli.She is survived by her four children,Gianfranco D'Orazio of Colonie, Giancarlo (Maria) D'Orazio of Puerto Rico, Venziana (Rodney) Stone of Rotterdam and Nadia D'Orazio (Brad Dunleavy) of Glenville.Elena leaves behind her beloved grandchildren; John Carlo, Patrick, Camila, Giuseppe, Carley, Angelica, Stephanie, CJ, Moriah, Gianfranco, Arianna, Adriana, Malena, and great grandchildren Laniyah, Camden, Skyler, Mila-Anne, and Giana.She is also survived by her brothers, Mario, Vincenzo, Guido, Vito, Natale; her only sister, Rita Calafiore and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held Monday, February 16 from 6 pm to 8 pm at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.Funeral services will begin at 10 am on Tuesday at the Funeral Home followed by an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul the Apostle Church, Albany Street at Kings Road.Entombment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna.Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern, N.Y.Pine West Plaza,Building 4, Suite 405 Washington Ave. Ext.
