Eleanor D. Kaczor, 92, of East Campbell Rd. in Rotterdam, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center. Born in Dickson City, PA., Eleanor was the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Strodoski Misiewicz and was a graduate of Dickson City High School. She was employed for many years with the NYS Dept. of Tax & Finance and also with NYS Dept. of Transportation. She retired in 1980. Following her retirement, Eleanor volunteered at St. Clare’s Hospital, Proctor’s Theater and the Salvation Army for many years. She was a longtime member of St. Gabriel’s Church and was a charter member of the St. Gabriel’s Women’s Club. In addition to her late parents, Eleanor was also predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Stanley A. Kaczor, who died in 2011 and her beloved brothers and sisters; Stanley, Anthony, Frank, Joseph, Vicky, Stella, Pearl and Helen. She is survived by her daughters; Ann (Joseph) Pierz of Stratford, NY and Linda (Edward) Harrison of Clifton Park, NY, six grandchildren; Brian and Christopher Pierz, Elizabeth Hastings, Patrick, Erin and Matthew Harrison, eight great grandchildren, as well as all her very special nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, April 27th, 10 am at St. Gabriel’s Church, 3040 Hamburg St. in Rotterdam, immediately following the Mass, the family will be attending a private committal service at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. Eleanor’s family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to the dedicated staff in the Memory Care unit at Kingsway Manor and the Skilled Nursing staff at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center for the care and attention they gave Eleanor during her time there.
