September 19, 1934 — October 26, 2022

Schenectady - Eleanor Pomeroy Frazer, 88, of Schenectady, passed away on Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 at Ellis Hospital with her adoring family by her side. Born in Schenectady on September 19th, 1934, she was the second daughter of the late Edward and Mary Keigher Pomeroy. Eleanor graduated from Nott Terrace High School in 1952. After graduation, she walked across the street and started her secretarial career at Sealtest. She worked there until it closed. She then continued her career at G.E. Her department got sold several times and she retired from Bechtel in 1999. Eleanor was an avid gardener. When she wasn't in the garden, she was in the kitchen cooking something yummy. Her cookie trays at Christmastime were legendary. Keeping busy was a must for her. She would prep for weeks for our yearly trips to Schroon Lake. Family dinners were her happy place. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apples of her eye. Eleanor is joining her beloved husband, John, of 43 years, who passed away in 2014 as well as her sister, Catherine, who passed away in 2012. Eleanor is survived by her three children, John (Teresa) Frazer of Colonie, Kimberly (Keith) Christmas of Schenectady and Monica (Wayne) Sandilands of Glenville. Her grandchildren Alyssa Lafountain of Schenectady, Kyle (Katie) Frazer of Green Island, Briana Christmas of Schenectady and Courtney Frazer of Arizona. Step grandsons, Michael (Stephanie) Sandilands and Steven (Ricky) Martin-Sandilands of Michigan, as well as great grandchildren JaeMarie, Skyler, Chase, Apollo, Olivia and Emma. Funeral Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association or a charity of your choice.
