Eleanor "Ellie" R (Viscusi) Coons

Schenectady – Eleanor “Ellie” R. Coons, age 90, passed away at her home on Monday, October 30th, 2017. Eleanor was born in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Guiseppe and Sabina (Marchisano) Viscusi. Eleanor attended Schenectady City Schools and was a member of the former Our Lady of Assumption Church. A wonderful cook, Eleanor loved to feed her family and friends. In her younger years, she was a long-term caregiver for her mother. She will be remembered as a loving and hardworking mother and grandmother. She was predeceased in 1993 by her husband of 46 years, Donald L. Coons Sr. as well as her siblings, Yolanda Spadaro, Louis Viscusi, Armond Viscusi, Alfred Viscusi and Mafalda Capritta. Left behind to cherish Eleanor’s memory are her loving children, Bruce J. Coons (Linda), Donald L. Coons Jr. and Tina M. Coons, her beloved grandchildren, Jessica Coons, Joleen Hensley, Lindsay Steenland, Elise Coons, Donald L. Coons III, Kraig Coons, Michael Countermine and Kayle Countermine and 3 great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Santa Sukatski and Pauline Melco. A visitation will take place on Friday, November 3rd from 5-7pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. in Rotterdam. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 9:30am at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 210 Princetown Rd., Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
