Rotterdam - Elbee Ruben Diaz of Rotterdam, NY, passed away December 23, 2015 at 1:40 p.m. from complications following heart surgery. Elbee is survived by his wife; Wendy (Gerow) Diaz, his 8 year old son, Elis, his daughters; Dessa and Kasey, His son-in-laws; June and Adnan. His 6 grandchildren; Isaac, Promise, Trinity, Destiny, Gabe and Malachi all from Rotterdam, NY. He is also survived by his mother, Milagros Diaz from Colonia, New Jersey, His sister; Miladys and husband Roland Vrablik and nieces Lindsay and Madie and nephew, Nicholas from Colonia, New Jersey. His brother, Ariz and wife Maria Diaz and nieces Alyssa, Alyana and nephew Anthony from Holmdel, New Jersey, as well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Elbee was preceded in death by his father Jose Diaz (1984). Elbee was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 13, 1974 and lived in Rahway, New Jersey much of his life. Elbee worked for Home Depot in Schenectady, NY since 2007 as a manager on duty/supervisor. He was also one semester shy of achieving his MBA. Elbee was a friend to many and had a heart for helping those less fortunate, especially the poor, sick and needy. He lended much encouragement to those that were struggling in their lives. He was always there to lend a helping hand to everyone. He was also referred to as a peacemaker. Elbee loved his family with a passion and spoke from his heart. He was a powerful singer and lover of music and dance. He especially liked to sing to the Lord with songs of praise and worship. Elbee was actively planning to travel the country and wanted to dedicate his life to doing God's work. Elbee had a strong relationship with his sister and brother and always gave forth positive motivation and was a faithful confidant. He honored his mother as a son should and gave her praise for giving him life. They had a strong bond that will remain forever. Elbee was gracious and compassionate but most of all he was a loving husband and great father. He loved his son with all his heart and enjoyed every moment he could with him. Elbee loved life and found enjoyment in everything he did. His laughter and sense of humor as well as his strengths in life affected those around him. We are all grateful for the time we were allowed to be with our beloved Elbee who will be greatly missed, never forgotten and always in our hearts forever. Funeral services will begin 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam.
