Elaine A. Miakisz

ROTTERDAM - Elaine A (Jabour) Miakisz, 83, passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and educated in Troy she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Yamin) Jabour.

Elaine worked as an operator at NY Telephone for 32 years. Upon retirement she drove a bus with Brown Transportation. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, a retired member of the CWA and a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Church.  Elaine enjoyed country music, the Racino and Saratoga horse racing.

Wife of the late Thomas Miakisz; mother of Sheri Ann Paige, Michele Ann, Anthony J. Daniel J., Robert, and John Miakisz , Marie Burns,  Patricia Bittner and the late Thomas “Butch” Miakisz;  sister of: Joseph Jabour, Marsha Ernest, Rose Marie Wertman, Helen Dundon and the late Sal Jabour and Diane Sacala. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 15th at 12 noon in the Demarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave. Rotterdam. Relatives and friends are invited and may also visit with her family on Monday prior to her service from 11 am- 12 noon. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
