Rotterdam NY: Eileen Mae (Bone-Specht) Papp formerly of Woodlawn Street, Rotterdam passed away March 17, 2016. She was a resident of the Baptist Retirement Community. Eileen was the example of a Great Wife and Mom, always at the side of her husband of 52 years, the late John P. Papp, and devoted mother of Delores Jean Jeffers (RIP), Debra LuAnne McCafferty, and John Michael Papp. She was born in the depression era as the youngest of 4 girls, Lena, Louise, Ethel and Eileen Bone, having later been adopted by the Specht family in the late '˜30's. In 1950, Eileen met the love of her life, John in a movie theater in Manhatten KS., while he was stationed in the Army, it is rumored that she threw popcorn at him to get his attention. They carried their love from KS to NY to set up a home and family in Rotterdam. Eileen was constantly his partner in life, and her love for Family was shown each and every day. Eileen did not work for a living, she made a life for her family. She would easily tell one that being a homemaker was the toughest job in the world. She always had a smile to share, and carried a Wonderful Sense of Humor. Eileen was involved in various activities in support of her Family, she was a member of the former "Broadway Methodist Church," "Mohonasen Music Parents," and "BSA Troop 357 Committee" back in the '˜70's. She was most recently a Lifemember of the "Schenectady County Historical Society."Her favorite at Baptist Retirement was playing BINGO!
