Rotterdam – Egidio Rossi, 89, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, April 20th, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving wife Cattolica Vincenza Rossi of 60 years and devoted family. He was born on April 22, 1933 in Melizzano, Italy toAngelo and Rosaria Rossi.In 1972, he came to the United States with his wife and two sons,where he created a beautiful life for his family working as a highly skilled masonry tradesman. Egidio loved working in the garden, making wine and spending time with his family. Egidio is predeceased by his parents Angelo and Rosaria, his son Angelo, and many brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife Cattolica Vincenza (Mezza) Rossi, his son Alfonso (Mary Ann), his daughter-in-law Adele Rossi, his six grandchildren, Angelo (Claire), Antonio (Julia), Egidio, Alissa, Julia, and Davia, his great grandson Colton, and many family members in Italy. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, April 25thfrom 5:00-7:00 p.m. atDeMarco-Stone Funeral Home at 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam.Funeral services willbe held Wednesday, April 26th at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace, at 210 Princetown Road, Rotterdam.Entombment will follow atSt.Cyril & Method Cemetery.
