Edwin C. Ullman, 79, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Ellis Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Edwin was born in Sharon Springs, on May 29th 1937 Edwin was the son of the late Herbert and Hazel (Bascomb) Ullman. Edwin honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1963 earning the rank of Sergeant. He was employed by Campbell Plastics for over 20 years as a fork lift operator. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Choir at Mt. Carmel Church. An avid outdoorsman, Edwin enjoyed fishing and hunting . He also enjoyed bowling, baseball and was a model train enthusiast. His love for his grandkids often found him at sporting events cheering for their success. Edwin was predeceased by his infant son, Jonathan and his in-laws, Rose and Corrado Costanzo. Edwin leaves behind his dear wife of 45 years Teresa (Costanzo) Ullman, his sons, Stephen Ullman (Stacy) of Rotterdam and Thomas Ullman of Rotterdam, his brother, David Ullman of Schoharie, grandchildren, Karlie and Katherine Ullman as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Sunita Rayudu and the staff of A5 wing at Ellis Hospital for their compassion and professionalism during his time of care. Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 29th from 6-8pm at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday morning at 8:15am from the funeral home, following at 9am at St. Luke’s Church, 1241 State St., where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Schenectady.
