Edward J. Sprenger, 38 of Rotterdam, died suddenly on Sunday, December 14, 2014. Born in Southampton, NY, Edward attended Ft. Ann High School and graduated from Gloversville High School in 1994. He attended RIT and worked as a Computer Programmer with Rational Retention for several years and was currently working for Apprenda, in Troy, NY.ÂHe also attended as a camper and then worked at Skye Farm Camp for many years. Edward was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Folsom Sprenger. He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Kathleen Griffiths Sprenger, two sons; Nathan and Andrew Sprenger, his father James R. Sprenger of Scotia, his sister, Karen (James) Reilly of Kenosha WI., brothers in law; Patrick Griffiths of Niskayuna and Timothy (Mary Jo) Griffiths of Oswego, NY, and his nieces and nephews; Ethan King, Emma King, Thomas Reilly, Brendan Griffiths, Alayna Griffiths, Sophia Griffiths, Olivia Griffiths and Trevor Griffiths. Ed loved spending time with his family, whether it was watching his beloved NY Mets, NY Giants, and NY Red Bulls, coaching his boys in sports, or going on vacations to the shore. To Ed, his family meant everything. Ed was always willing to help out whenever anyone needed it, and his friends, family and coworkers will miss his offbeat humor, intelligence and abilities.He was a valued mentor to many of his coworkers. Calling hours will be held on Friday, 6-8 pm at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, 11 am at the Rotterdam United Methodist Church, 1915 Helderberg Ave. Burial will follow the service at Viewland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Skye Farm Camp and Retreat Center, 1884 East Schroon River Road, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
