Edward F Polch

Schenectady- Edward F. Polch, age 79, passed away on Wednesday July,13 2016. He was born in Schenectady on September 17, 1936 to the late Peter and Helen Scully Polch. After graduating from St. Columba High School of Schenectady, he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation in Ct from 1956-1959 and again in 1961- 1965. He served the US Army as a Multi Engine Helicopter Mechanic from 1959-1961. Ed worked as a machinist at the General Electric in Steam Turbine Building #273 from 1965 until his retirement in 1998. Edward will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Edward was predeceased by his son Edward T. Polch and his second wife of 30 years Jean Snow Polch Edward is survived by his daughter, Christine (Joseph) Messier of Halfmoon NY, grandchildren Kyle Messier, Sheridan Messier and Derek Messier and his sisters Phyllis Wiley of Cleveland TN formerly of Vestal NY and Eileen (Louie) Merolle of Latham NY and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Jean’s Children Kristine (Ed) LeClair of Kingston NH, Debra (Late Richard) Squadere of Phoenix Az, James (Jane) Snow of Waterford NY and Cheryl (Claude) Conan of Edmonton Canada and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc 1605 Helderberg Ave Rotterdam on Tuesday July 19 2016 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 8:15 am immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am at St John the Evangelist Church Schenectady. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation PO Box 1848 Longmont Co. 80502.
