Edward Mazzo

1/24/1966 - 2/23/2025

Edward Mazzo, 59, of Schenectady, passed away on Sunday February 23, 2025, after a valiant five-year battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Edward, affectionately known as Eddie to his friends and family, was a devoted husband and father. His favorite role was being a Poppy to his two grandchildren, Charlotte and Wayden.

Eddie was always known for being a hardworking man. Though he had many roles, he most recently worked as a medical courier. He was able to help others by delivering cancer medications to large hospitals while in treatment himself. When he wasn’t on the road, he could often be found at his camp. An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, he spent his summers out on the lake, enjoying what we like to call “boat days” with his family and friends.

His dedication to his family and the love that he gave was a blessing. He was selfless, always putting everyone else above himself. Very involved in his children’s lives, he never missed a match or a dance competition, and as his children grew into adults, he was there for every milestone. Eddie was truly a giant among men, and the legacy he has left is valuable beyond words, and quite frankly, I would need to write a novel to be able to sum it up. He was simply the best and is loved to infinity and beyond.

He is survived by his wife, Diana; daughters Jessica and Mackenzie (Cassius); father, Edward Mazzo (Diane); mother, Bonnye Steuart; sister, Samantha Smith (Joe); a niece, several nephews, in-laws, and his fur babies.

He is predeceased by his sister, Melissa, and several grandparents.

A celebration of life will be held at a location and date to be determined. This will be a private event with family and close friends. Arrangements by DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, Rotterdam. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.
