Edna Mary La Rocco

Rotterdam- Edna Mary La Rocco, 100, at rest Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Edna was born in Minaville, N.Y. the daughter of the late Isaac and Georgianna (LeRoy) Newkirk. Edna was a hairdresser, employed for many years with Charles of Scotia and was later employed with Brown's Advertising. She was a member of Young at Hearts, the Rotterdam Senior Association, Rotterdam Seniors and the General Electric Athletic Association. Edna was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Anthony LaRocco (2004); beloved sister of Arlene Hodges of Scotia and the late Edith Albers, Frank, Harry, Floyd and Haslett Newkirk.She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A calling period will be held Monday, December 22 from 11 to 12 noonat the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam. Those in attendance may follow for a service in the chapel of Schenectady Memorial Park, Rotterdam, where Edna will be entombed. Edna's family wishes to thank the staff of the Baptist Health Center, Scotiafor their wonderful care of Edna.
