Rotterdam – Earl H. Brinkman, 99, went home to be with his Lord on Thursday May 17, 2018. Born in Guilderland, NY, Earl graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and then entered the GE apprentice program. He went on to become the company’s second longest employee while earning 8 patents. In 1976 Earl retired at the age of 74 after 57 years of employment where he designed large steam turbines used for hydro-electric and nuclear power plants around the world. Earl also attended Bellevue Gospel Chapel for 76 years where he served as an elder. Earl loved the Lord and reading the Bible. He also enjoyed spending time in prayer and being with other Christians. He was a kind and generous man and was considerate to other people.He drove many hundreds of people as a volunteer to their cancer treatment at Ellis and Riverview. He is survived by his wife, Rita (Manor) Brassard Brinkman. His children; David (Beth) Brinkman, Lois (Gary) Griswold, Paul (Mary) Brassard, Deanna (Andy) Brassard, Donna (David) Brassard and the late Tina Brassard. His sister; Ruth Bennett. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 10 am – 12 noon at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Parkview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Earl’s memory to the Bellevue Gospel Chapel 2702 Guilderland Ave., Schenectady, NY 12306.
