Dorothy Capra

Albany-- Dorothy Capra, 102, passed away peacefully at the Teresian House on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She was born in Schenectady, on February 18, 1915 a daughter of the late Anthony and Rosa Lauria DeLorenzo . Dorothy married her beloved husband Ross Capra on June 18, 1938. He passed away in 2003. Dorothy was an avid reader, was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed travelling around the country with her husband and spending their winters in Florida. For many years Dorothy was employed as a Clerk for NYS in the Tax and Finance Dept. retiring after 30 years of service. She is survived by her daughters Anne Marie Forth of Rotterdam and Dorothy (Vernon) Hydorn of Birmingham Al ; eleven grandchildren, Susan (James)Saburro of Guilderland, Karen (Michael) La Freniere of Guilderland, Joseph Forth of Charlotte NC, Anne LaPorte of Honolulu, Hawaii, Catherine (John) Coffey of Virginia, Peter (Jennifer) Forth of Scotia, Vernon Hydorn Jr. of Mass, Andrew Hydorn of Tx and Mary Elizabeth (William) Novak of Pa, Michael Hydorn of Florida and David Hydorn of Tx. She is also survived by 28 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband Ross in 2003 and her son Ross Jr. in 1985 and her son in law Maurice Forth in 2008. And her brothers Dominic, Joseph and Carmine and sisters Rose, Victoria and Lena. Family and friends are invited to call at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Rotterdam on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, December 6 ,2017 at 8:15 am at the funeral home. Immediately following a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church Schenectady. Interment will follow at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady. The family respectfully requests that memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital and or Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
