Donald C Hoyt

Rotterdam - Donald C. Hoyt, 86, originally of Rotterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2016 at his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and a friend to all. Don was born on July 15, 1929to Katherine (Davis) and Nelson Hoyt in Saratoga Springs, NY. He was predeceased by his sister, Helen Hoyt and brother, Nelson "Bud" Hoyt. He worked at General Electric in his early years where he met the love of his life Beatrice Alberti. They married on September 27, 1958 and had a full and happy life for 57 years that was filled with family and laughter. Together they had 4 children; Donnie, (Peggy), David, (Peggy), Eileen, (Russ Hawkins) and Kenny, (MaryJo). Twelve grandchildren; Jessica (Joe) Carpenter, Sean, Erin, Matt, Molly, Colleen, Jadon, Logan and Nelson Hoyt. Russell (Meghan) Hawkins, Ryan (Danika) Hawkins and Kelsey Hawkins. He also had 3 great granddaughters; Haley and Mikaela Carpenter and Piper Hawkins. Don worked at The Grand Union as an Assistant Manager, Falvo Meats, and ended his career life at Northeast Bank, now The Bank of America as a Supervisor of the Mailroom. While Don's accomplishments in life were numerous, he will be most remembered as a strong man of God who loved well and was loved and respected by all who knew him. A celebration of his life will be held at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home at 1605 Helderberg Avenue on Friday January, 29. Calling hours will be held from 10:00-11:30 a.m. followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. and burial at Parkview Cemetery. ReverendWilliam Grasso from Christ Community Church will be officiating.
