Rotterdam - Donald Chevalier, 84, passed away at home on Friday February 5, 2016. Born in Cohoes, He was the son of Arthur and Marion Gagnon Chevalier. He served in the United States Navy from 1949-1950. Donald was a lifelong avid Mets fan. He owned his own business for many years before retiring from Bellevue Kitchens. He also was a communicant of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Along with his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Doris, who passed away in 2000, his daughter Shirley Chevalier Jergel (2004) and his brother Thomas Chevalier. He is survived by 2 sons; Paul (Cyndy) Chevalier of Rotterdam and Daniel (Michele) Chevalier of Halfmoon. 4 grandchildren; Rochelle Chevalier of Brandon, England, Paul Chevalier Jr., of Rotterdam, Andrew Chevalier of Coral Springs, FL. And Stephanie Holtzapfel of Johns Creek, GA. 2 great grandchildren; Kenzie and Lana Parham. 3 step grandchildren; Alison Anderson, Nicole Kovalsky and Benjamin Varieur. His brother; John Chevalier of Rohnert Park, CA. along with several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sweetheart and companion, Shirley Mullarkey of Rotterdam. Calling hours will be held Monday from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Cyril's cemetery.
