Dominick A. Salvione, 94, passed away into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Dominick was born and educated in Amorosi Province of Benevento, Italy. He came to the Schenectady area from Italy in his early 20’s. He served honorably and faithfully in the Army during the Korean War. After his military service he began employment as a carpenter with General Electric Co. in Schenectady. He was an avid bowler, being a member of various leagues over the years. He was the beloved husband of 31 years to his late wife, Theresa, beloved father of Joseph Salvione and his wife Kelly of Clifton Park; doting grandfather of Mark, Alyssa, Nicholas and Anthony, brother of Edivige (Franco) of Genoa, and the late Marretta of Amorosi, Italy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins and was adoringly called “Papa D.” He enjoyed baking, cooking, making his sauce, going on vacations in Florida, and travelling to Italy to visit his family. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours for Dominick on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave. Schenectady, NY 12306 from 8am-10am. A Funeral Service will take place at 10am at the funeral home. Dominick will be laid to rest alongside his wife, Theresa at St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
