Dominick Falso

Rotterdam- Dominick E. Falso, 91, of Patton Drive, passed away peacefully at Captial Living on August 7 2014 after a brief illness. He was born on March 29, 1923 in Canajoharie NY, the son of the late Mathia and Anna Laura Falso. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Syracuse University. For over 30 years he was employed by General Electric as an Engineer and later a Manager of Steam Turbine Quality Control, retiring in 1983. Dom served in the United States Army during WWII in Europe and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was a communicant and an Usher at St Joseph's Church Schenectady. He was a member of the Knights of St. Johns, American Legion and Rotterdam Elks.Dom loved golfing and bowling, and was officer and participant in golf and bowling leagues for many years.Dom was an avid Yankee fan and a member of the Schenectady Ole Timers Baseball Association.He also loved playing cards and woodworking. Dom is survived by his wife Virginia "Gini" Falso,his children Edward (Stormy) Falso,of Marietta GA, Susan (Peter) Palermo of Charlton, Jan and( Dr. John)Fortune of Essex NY , Jillann Neelyof Essex NY and Marshall (Diana)Neely of Nashville TN , 9 grandchildren, Matthew(Alixe), Alyssa, Justin (Lauren) , Jared, Neely, Brooks, Todd , Grantly and Alden, and one great granddaughter Anna, along with several nieces and nephews. Dom was predeceased by his first wife Diana in 1976 and four sisters. Family and Friends are invited to call at DeMarco Stone Funeral Home Inc., 1605 Helderberg Ave on Monday August 11, 2014 from 9 am to 10 am. Immediately following, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am at St Joseph's Church Schenectady. Interment will follow at St Casmir's Cemetery Amsterdam. Memorial donations maybe made to St Joseph's Church and /or Schenectady City Mission.
